Linda McLean is a Scottish playwright based in Glasgow. Her plays include the award winning Every Five Minutes; Any Given Day; Sex & God; strangers, babies; Shimmer; Riddance ; and One Good Beating. In 2016 Linda wrote an adaptation of Alice Munro’s The view from Castle Rock for Stellar Quines and the EIBF Linda was the Creative Fellow at Edinburgh University’s Institute of Advanced Studies in Humanities in 2011. She was Chair of the Playwrights’ Studio, Scotland from 2008-2015 and she is an artistic associate of Magic Theatre, San Francisco. In 2017 Every Five Minutes will play in Seattle; strangers, babies will open in Toronto; Glory on Earth, directed by David Greig will premier at The Lyceum in Edinburgh; Any Given Day (Un Jour ou L’Autre) will be part of the Avignon Festival; and Thingummy Bob (for Lung Ha) will be on at The Festival Theatre, Edinburgh. An anthology of her work, translated into French by Sarah Vermande and Blandine Pelissiér, was published in 2015 by Actes Sud-Papiers.


John is an Artistic Associate with Central Works where he directed Project Ahab: or Eye of the Whale, Red Virgin: Louise Michel and the Paris Commune of 1871 and Penelope’s Odyssey and appeared in (Richard the First, Reduction in Force,Midsummer/4, Shadow Crossing, The Mysterious Mr. Looney, The Duel & Mata Hari).  With Expanded Arts/Free Shakespeare in the Park(ing) Lot in New York, he helped develop new adaptations of The Seagull, Medea, Richard II andDracula. John also assistant directed Urban Opera’s productions of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas (SF Chronicle’s Top 10 Classical Music in 2009) andThe Witch of Endor and SF Lyric Opera’s production of David Lang’s Little Match Girl Passion (SF Chronicle’s Top 10 Classical Music performance in 2012) which traveled to Den Fynske Opera in Denmark in 2013.  John completed a two year Meisner Technique Program with JoAnna Beckson in NY, studied Suzuki with Jeffrey Bihr, is member of AEA and an alumni of Groundswell and has an AB in History from Princeton University.
